The octopus is one of the most elusive creatures found in the deep sea. With no skeletal system, they can squeeze in between tight crevices and escape natural predators. It is their tentacles, however, that cause them to be a looming threat to other sea animals. When implemented just the right way, they can squeeze the life out of prey. Despite dying young, octopi strive to procreate and keep their species going strong.
Their natural wonder aside, octopi have been a part of many cultures and have been portrayed in monstrous forms in mythology. This could be why octopus tattoos have become so prevalent in the tattoo world. Not only is the eight-armed creature rich with history, but it also looks amazing. Many people choose to have it drawn in a realistic style with dark ink, but several others choose a more classical maritime version to accentuate its undersea tone.
